Qualified candidate will have prior Cost Accounting experience preferably in a job shop, specialty products or custom manufacturing environment.  Must have the ability to perform complex financial analysis, project anticipated results and effectively communicate findings and recommendations to Senior Management.  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Cost Accountant Analyst will be responsible for developing and reviewing Cost of Goods Sold, detailed analysis of manufacturing variances, manage expense spending vs. forecasts and budgets and manage and/or support facility projects.


  • Key business partner to Operations management by developing and providing cost accounting information and analysis of financial performance that will drive solid business decisions and provide for on-going process improvements.
  • Manage and review product cost information
  • Review and understand Purchase Price Variances (PPV), ensure labor and material usage is in line with standard usage.
  • Provide updates to costs to reflect vendor price increases.
  • Review and update machine and labor rates and overhead calculations and allocations
  • Prepares plans and forecasts for the facility
  • Perform analysis of scrap and provide detailed reporting
  • Support Materials Group with inventory control activities
  • Ensure internal controls are in compliance to all internal and external regulations and policies. Manage to minimize risk and work closely with management and auditors.
  • Partner with IT to ensure accurate and timely data is being processed
  • Work hand in hand with the Finance Department on financial reporting and transactional accounting.
  • Liaison between Operations and Business Analyst
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.


  • Sound understanding of Accounting systems, General Ledger
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing
